ADMINISTRATION PHASE
ConnCAT's extraordinary mission offers inner city students the opportunity to engage in the study of culinary art, teaching skills and preparing them for jobs in the community. Part of a national program, it’s success is resonant in the life of its new school.


Culinary Program

This interior and exterior
renovation of existing offices
and laboratories for the brand
new Culinary Arts Program at
ConnCAT was made for 40 students (20 students in 2 staggering terms) as well as
an indoor/outdoor café to seat
up to 200 people. The program includes state-of-the-art
culinary technology and equipment.


Design Process

A series of renderings were used to convey the design of the space that includes exterior terrace, café dining, teaching kitchen,
a refrigerator/freezer room, administrative offices, laundry room, classrooms and support spaces for adult job training.

Series of early sketching exercises of the reception and front cafe counter were developed in an effort to provide the most welcoming experience for program visitors and cafe customers.
